Who's Bringing What is a shared packing list. This page says what it stores, why, and for how long — in plain language, because there isn't much to it.

What we collect

Only what you type into a trip: the trip name, destination and month, the names people enter for themselves, and the items on the list (with any brand, quantity, weight or notes you add). If you set an age band for someone (adult, child and so on), that's stored with their name. Each trip has a group chat; messages are stored with the name you chose and shown to everyone on that trip.

There are no passwords. Every visitor gets an anonymous ID from Firebase so the app can tell your browser's changes apart from other people's; it isn't linked to your name or email. If you use the optional "Sign in with Google," we also store your Google account ID, display name and email address so your trips can follow you between devices, and your email is recorded as the owner on trips you create. Nothing else from your Google account.

Why

To run the shared list. Everything on a trip is visible to everyone who has that trip's link or code — that's the point of it. Nothing is sold, shared with advertisers, or used for anything except showing the list to your group.

Weather lookups

When you add a destination or an itinerary stop, the city name and dates are sent to Open-Meteo, a weather service, to fetch typical conditions for the trip. No personal data goes with them.

What we don't collect

No analytics or tracking scripts run on this site. We don't collect your phone number, and we only hold an email address if you sign in with Google or type one into the feedback form. The feedback form also records your browser's user agent string (which browser and device type you used) so bugs can be reproduced.

Hosting

The site runs on Google Firebase, with data stored in Sydney, Australia. Like any web host, Firebase keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, time of request — for a short period for security and reliability. See Google's privacy policy for how those are handled.

How long we keep it

Trips stay until the person who created them deletes them, so a group can come back to the same list. A trip's creator can delete it at any time from "Edit trip." Feedback you send is kept until it's been read and acted on.

Your choices

You can use the site without giving your real name. You can delete any item or message you added, and the trip's creator can delete the whole trip. If you signed in with Google, you can delete your account from the menu under your name, or through the account deletion page. That removes your sign-in, your saved trips list and your email from trips you created; the trips themselves stay for the other people on them until the trip's creator deletes them.
